The portfolio was edited and printed by Matisse himself. This is one sheet from the self produced suite of 50 photo-lithographic reproductions of his drawings of women to accompany a 1920 exhibition of his work to coincide with his exhibition at Bernheim-Jeune, France. Only 1000 copies were produced, each drawing is plate signed Henri Matisse. The piece is framed in a black frame with a gold trim, featuring a 1 1/4 inch face and a 1 inch depth, complemented by a 2.5 inch antique white mat. The overall dimensions are approximately 16 x 13.5 x 1 inches. The lithograph is plate signed by Matisse, adding to its authenticity and value.
